9月26日，东莞理工学院（常平）智能制造与创意设计学院（以下简称“常平学院”）正式启用。学校与常平镇实现校地合作，致力于将常平学院联手打造成新型现代产业学院2.0版本，实现新工科和新文科的高度交叉融合，助推常平产业转型和科技成果转化，为常平镇实现高质量发展提供强有力的支持。
(Changping) School of Intelligent Manufacturing and Creative Design of Dongguan University of Technology (“Changping School”) officially opened on September 26th. With the cooperation of the university-local government of Changping Town, DGUT is committed to jointly transforming the Changping School into a new Version 2.0 School of Modern Industry. This way, it will create a new inter-discipline with the integration of engineering and liberal arts, to boost the industrial transformation and the transformation of scientific and technological achievements in Changping Town, thus strongly supporting the high-quality development of Changping Town.
据悉，2019年学校与常平镇人民政府签订合作共建协议，并于2020年6月正式启动常平学院的建设。常平学院占地面积约1.1万平方米，学院采用“校园+基地+产业园”新型运作模式，采取“学院+企业”的联合教学模式，致力于培养大批符合产业需要的高素质应用型、复合型、创新型人才。
In 2019, DGUT signed a cooperative co-construction agreement with the People’s Government of Changping Town, and officially launched the construction of Changping School in June 2020. Changping School covers an area of about 11,000 square meters. The school has a novel operation model of “campus + base + industrial park” and a joint teaching model of “college + enterprise”. It is committed to cultivating a large number of high-quality applied, inter-disciplinary, and innovative talented graduates to meet the current needs of the industry development.
