近日，广东省人民政府办公厅印发了《高等教育“冲一流、补短板、强特色”提升计划实施方案（2021—2025年）》，同时公布了新一轮高等教育“冲一流、补短板、强特色”提升计划（2021—2025年）建设高校名单，47所公办 本科高校入选。其中，东莞理工学院从上一轮“冲补强”的特色高校提升计划成功升格，入选本轮广东省高水平大学重点学科建设高校行列，新型高水平理工科大学示范校建设取得重大成效。学校将以“冲一流”为目标，对标国家“双一流”建设，聚焦“中国特色、世界一流”，着力建设原始创新能力强的高峰学科，形成引领高水平基础研究的战略科技力量。

Recently, the General Office of the Guangdong Provincial People’s Government issued the “Implementation Proposal for Higher Education Promotion Plan” for “Striving for the First-Class, Improving Weak links and Highlighting Features” (2021–2025). At the same time, the list of universities to be constructed in the new round of the promotion plan were also announced, with 47 public undergraduate universities selected. DGUT was upgraded during the previous round of the Promotion Plan of “Striving for the First-Class, Improving Weak links and Highlighting Features”, and was selected as a key discipline construction university among Guangdong province’s high-level universities. It has made great progress in the development of a model new high-level university of science and engineering. DGUT aims to be “first-class”, therefore, it adheres to the national standard of “dual first-class” and focuses on “Chinese characteristics and being world first class”. DGUT is making every effort to build top disciplines with strong original innovation ability and form a strategic scientific and technological force leading high-level fundamental research.
